Bridges Overview

The San Juan Unified School District's Bridges After-School/ASSETs Programs provide homework support, enrichment and pro-social recreation in a safe and positive environment. The Bridges After-School/ASSETs Programs currently serve approximately 3,000 students, grades K-12, in 35 programs at 35 sites. Student success is supported through the implementation of each of the four components of the program: Homework support, enrichment/disguised learning, pro-social skills/recreation, and parent support and empowerment. Strong relationships between program staff, school staff, parents and students are key! 

Mission 

Bridges After-School /ASSETs Programs' mission is to Build Bridges to Student Success by supporting student achievement, providing a safe, enriching environment, increasing student self-esteem and life skills, preparing students for 21st Century success, and involving parents and guardians.

Discovery Club

 

Discovery Club is a before and after school program for K-6th graders where children receive homework assistance, create art and science projects, work with computers, and participate in other enrichment activities. Discovery Club opens a 7AM and closes at 6PM daily, twelve months per year. Midday programs hours of closure are determined by school bell schedules. Kindergarten program hours may vary. Discovery Club will provide before and after school care for either the early/AM kindergarten or the late/PM kindergarten programs. Fees range from $171 to $481 (fees subject to change) depending on the number of hours your child is contracted to attend.
